Experience the Best Whitewater Rafting in British Columbia! Whitewater rafting in Fernie provides you with 16 km of class II, III, and IV rapids, wildlife, and some of the most breathtaking sceneries.
Whitewater Rafting in Fernie
Trips start from our office at the Stanford Resort at 8:45 am where you sign-in and meet your guide. Shortly after you jump on the bus for a brief drive to Elko where the rest of the crew will be waiting.
After changing into a wetsuit, life jacket, and helmet you make your way down the canyon for a safety talk. You then embark on the raft and go over and practice the paddling strokes you will use during the trip.
As soon as your raft leaves the river bank, you will ride your first rapids. From then on it will be rapids after rapids until lunch time. As the day progress, your paddling technique will improve and your confidence increase.
While you enjoy the scenery and pose for pictures taken by our photographer, the guides will get lunch ready for you. You will enjoy a well-deserved and delicious riverside picnic made of build-your-own wrap, fresh fruits, and cookies.
The amazing scenery includes towering canyon walls, forested hillsides and historic relics including disused bridge supports. You might also encounter wildlife during your trip. It is not uncommon to see bald eagles, golden eagles, mountain goats, and river otters.
After your lunch break, you will get back on the river for more rapids down the canyon. Towards the end of the trip, the river becomes gentler, and there is an opportunity to do some cliff jumping and swimming in the mellower section of the river.
After taking the rafts of the water and stepping into dry clothes, you will hop on the bus for the ride back to the base where you can view the photos taken during the day.
Looking for something more challenging than whitewater rafting? Try whitewater kayaking. You will paddle the same 16 km of rapids, so you will be able to enjoy your time on the river with the rest of your group.
