Whitewater Rafting is a unique way to experience Fernie. You’ll enjoy breathtaking sceneries in our high quality 8 seater rafts as you navigate through carved canyons, and over Class 2, 3, and 4 rapids.
Depending on time of year and water levels, you will experience the best 15kms+ of whitewater rafting in British Columbia on one of Fernie’s famous rivers.
Raging Elk Canyon
The Elk River Canyon is our most popular run, geared towards adventure seekers looking for Class 4 rapids while rafting through the stunning scenery of towering canyon walls. Always a classic, paddlers will get the chance to go cliff jumping, spot wildlife such as bald eagles and mountain goats, and hit excellent white-water features. The river is great from late June to September and will have the most powerful rapids early season before becoming more family-friendly towards the end of summer.
The Bull River
In Spring and early summer while the winter’s snowpack is melting and the Elk River is too high to safely raft, we run the Bull River. This area feels rugged and remote. The glacier blue waters and dense surrounding forests are home to abundant wildlife coming down the mountains for a taste of spring. Snowcapped mountains tower above, and the Class 2 to 3+ rapids offer an unforgettable day for the whole family.
